Connecting A Soundbar To Your TV
Use HDMI ARC if your television has it — look for an HDMI port labelled ARC on the back. One cable carries the audio and lets your existing TV remote control the volume, which means you are not juggling two remotes every evening. If your set is older, the optical cable does the same job minus the remote convenience.
Then go into your television’s sound settings and switch the audio output from “TV speakers” to “External” or “HDMI ARC”. People skip this step, hear nothing, and assume the unit is faulty. It almost never is.
Room and placement
Put it directly under the screen, at ear height when you are seated if you can manage it. Do not shut it inside a closed cabinet — the subwoofer needs air in front of it and a glass door will muffle everything you paid for. Wall mounting under a mounted television looks tidy and works well.
