Eight litres in practice
A whole chicken fits. So does enough chips for five or six people in one go. If you cook for a large household or you entertain, the extra capacity is the difference between one batch and three.
Looking after it
Wash the basket after every use, not once a week. Old oil residue is what makes an air fryer smoke and smell.
