Six litres is the size that actually feeds a family. The smaller three and four litre models mean cooking in two batches, which defeats the point when everyone is waiting.
What it does well
Chips, chicken pieces, samosas, roast potatoes and reheating anything that should be crisp. What it does not do is deep fry properly, so if you are making mandazi in quantity you still want a deep fryer.
Running cost
Cheaper than heating a whole oven and far cheaper than the oil you would otherwise get through. That is the real saving, not the electricity.
